In Memory
Robinson, William (Bill) (17 Jul 11)
Age 82
U.K. Veteran, passed away at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, on July 17, 2011, aged 82 years. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of 56 years. Bill was born in Nottinghamshire, U.K. December 16, 1928 and after his formal schooling, joined the R.A.F. serving 10 years as a Sergeant Flight Engineer. He served in England and Germany during the Berlin Airlift and in the Suez Canal Zone.
Bill immigrated to Canada in 1955. Employed by the City of Toronto and the Ministry of Revenue, he retired in 1989 after receiving a kidney transplant. Bill served in the G.G.H.G. Cavalry Squadron from 1971 to the early ’80’s. He was a true gentleman trooper in every sense, always turned out immaculately. Brenda, a CFRB secretary, took over the typing and copying of Squadron orders (she served 5 years in the R.A.F. as a PTI). He will be sadly missed by his wife and many friends.
