In Memory

Hohs (née Barber), Mrs. Vera May (27 Mar 23)

Fellow Horse Guards,

Amidst the rush of our daily lives, it is easy to overlook the quiet strength and sacrifices of the few remaining widows of our WW II Veterans. However, the GGHG Association remains steadfast in our commitment to honouring their contributions and preserving their memory. It is therefore with sadness, that we acknowledge the peaceful passing of Mrs. Vera May Hohs (née Barber), the widow of GGHG WW II Veteran Charles G. Hohs, in Collingwood on March 27, 2023, in her 96th year.

Vera had resided in North York and according to her son Ron, she lived a wonderful life and always looked forward to receiving her copy of Regimental Lines. She is survived by her sons Brian (Pat) and Ron (Sandy) and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them, we send our sincere condolences on the passing of the family matriarch. A traditional funeral service was held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Ogden Funeral Home Chapel in Scarborough.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Centre or Hospice Georgian Triangle-Campbell House in memory of Vera.
