Shopiro, MWO Milton (Shopsy) (6 Oct 11)
It is again with much sadness that we announce the passing of one of the most loyal supporters of the GGHG Association, MWO Milton (Shopsy) Shopiro, on Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Kitchener. Although he had served with the 25 Service Battalion, Milton became a proud member of the GGHG Association and until his confinement to a nursing home, attended every Association event at Denison Armoury.
He is survived by his daughter Randi Santo who kept us updated on his health after he moved to a nursing home in Kitchener a few years ago to be close to her. Milton will be sadly missed by all of us in the Regimental Family who enjoyed his wit and camaraderie over the years. Interment was held last Sunday, October 9, in the Jewish Canadian Veteran’s Memorial Park Association Section of Mt. Sinai Memorial Park.
To Randi and all of Milton’s family, we send our heartfelt condolences at this time of loss. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
