Rose, Capt. Kenneth “Ken” (Feb 2018)

Fellow Horse Guards:

It is with sadness I share the news of the passing of another Horse Guard, Capt. Kenneth Rose, age 72. Ken served as an officer in the Regiment in the late sixties to early seventies. We have now learned that he passed away following a riding accident, on February 24th, 2018.

Ken was well known in the equestrian community and was described as a gentleman in every conceivable manner. He also volunteered in several organizations and competed up to the training level on his horse Merlin. A celebration of Ken’s life, was held on Saturday, March 3rd in Toronto and The Ken Rose Memorial Rider Safety Fund has been set-up through Ontario Equestrian.

On behalf of all members of the Governor General’s Horse Guards Association, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Pam and all of Ken’s family on their loss at this difficult time.
