It is our sad duty to report that we have just learned of the passing of Alan (Al) Douglas Burroughs on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Head w aters Health Care Centre, Orangeville after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 60 years of age.
Al served as a member of the Governor General’s Horse Guards from 1966 to 1971.
A viewing was held last evening and the funeral service will be Wednesday 20 January 2010 in Orangeville.
Our deepest condolences go out to his wife Annette and their sons Michael and Kevin.
Memorial donations in memory of Al may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A tree will be planted in memory of Alan in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville and A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 12th, 2010.
